Hi, I’m Jenni from Nettle & Rose Nutrition. I help women who are fed up with dieting; women who aren’t loving their bodies, and women who want to reignite their spark.

I am fascinated by the power of food and passionate about self-care and living a mindful, healthy life. My philosophy is that everyone has the right to a vibrant life, free from ill health. With our busy working days, keeping family and others happy, it’s easy to put yourself at the bottom of the priority list and for your health to suffer as a result.

I studied Psychology at University, knowing that I wanted to make a positive difference somehow. In my second year, I became aware that, perhaps under the stress of transitioning twenties, I wasn’t making nourishing choices. I noticed that my relationship with food wasn’t healthy, nor was my relationship with myself. It’s amazing how much these two relationships are connected.

I believe we see light by experiencing the dark.

The light for me has been discovering the power of nourishing, fuelling and loving your body. Health flourishes with good food and movement, but often starts with a healthy mind. It’s a journey I still work on daily, not a path with an ending. My purpose is to work with others on their journey too. Many of us feel we’re doing our best to make healthy choices, but still just don’t feel ‘right’. With so many conflicting health messages around us, it’s no wonder we’re all confused. This is where I wanted to help.

After University I travelled for 6 months before training at a professional level at The Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London, one of the UK’s leading schools of science and evidence based Nutritional Therapy. And I now help clients with health issues such as fatigue, low mood, digestive troubles and bloating, hormonal issues, allergies, skin complaints, and weight management.

From chronic illness to niggling symptoms – even the smallest changes can make a big difference to your health.

As a nutritional therapist, my job involves a bit of detective work to really get to the root cause of client’s health issues, often tracking back to what first caused the problem. Using an evidence-based and holistic approach, I explore not only what people are eating, but also family history, environment and lifestyle such as stress and sleep. Sometimes this involves functional diagnostic testing to identify other factors at play. For example I might see clients who are eating the right foods, but I then discover they’re not absorbing nutrients and that’s why they are experiencing fatigue and frequent illness.

By combining nutritional therapy (the science bit) with health coaching I’m able to help clients identify and overcome any obstacles and barriers that may be in the way of them reaching their health goals. I am truly dedicated to empowering my clients to make the changes needed to achieve their health goals with a focus on empathy, support, motivation, education and success.
